The Lily Department
This department has been designed to cater for up to 12 children aged 0 to 2. The staff ratio in the Lily Department is 1:3.
Children in this department can explore a range of activities during the day. Children will have opportunities to select and visit spaces throughout the day. They will do so independently or with their peers under the care and support of dedicated Childcare Educators who will develop the spaces in interesting and challenging ways.
A sleep area is created at the back of the room when required to suit the children’s routines. Soothing, relaxing music enhances the tranquil space. The front area of the room is still in use as a playroom during this period. We follow up to date Safe Sleep guidelines.
Each child in the Lily Department has a key person who will co-ordinate and maintain individual personal learning plans and journals. These documents will be available to view throughout the year. You can ask to see your child’s personal learning plan/journal at any time.

Children in this room are, in many instances, getting ready to move onto school. It is important to help them to grow into confident learners who are eager to make sense of the world, to develop more independence and above all remain motivated learners who can lead their learning.
